A look behind the scenes of the making of the Jackpotjoy puppets, Ad Break Bingo ads which were shown in the commercial breaks of Deal or no Deal.
If you have caught Deal or no Deal you can’t have failed to notice the Jackpotjoy indents that wrap around the show. The sponsorship deal has been great for both parties and it is fair to say that the many people have developed an awareness of Jackpotjoy through this deal. This video clip looks at these adverts and shows how painstaking a process making these mini clips can be. The puppets in the advert all look fantastic and the attention to detail is extremely high. This is emphasises almost straight from the start with the sewing work put into getting the Queen of Bingo’s dress right!

If you have never caught Deal or no Deal, you may be surprised to learn of the amount of work that goes into making the sponsorship deal work. The Jackpotjoy section is a game in itself and with bingo numbers being pulled out of the boxes; players at home have the chance to interact with the show and the bingo company. Some of the clips are actually quite funny with the puppets being a great success.
One of the best clips is for 13 “unlucky for some” when the male puppet appears smiling and happy only to be blighted by bad luck. Some people say that birds dropping can be good luck but it isn’t such a great occasion when it lands on your hat and you have to clean it off! There are other video clips featuring all of the main Jackpotjoy characters and some new characters who make a great impression. The dogs and chickens go down very well but as per usual, Barbara Windsor manages to steal the show in puppet form and with some great voice-over work.
